Midwifery means “with woman” and it is being with women both physically, emotionally and spiritually that allows women to feel safe and empowered during the childbearing year and beyond.

I feel that it is my duty to care for my clients as if they were my own daughters to protect them from undue harm and to ensure that their bodies and their minds are respected. It is my job to guide families through the birth process.

I feel that birth is a natural, ultimately wise process that each woman and her family have the amazing opportunity to experience in the way that they feel is the most comfortable and safest.

It is also my firm belief that birth should not be forced, rushed, or otherwise adulterated.

In the same vein I do not feel that any care received by the client should be rushed or forced in order to give the client a thorough understanding of her care and the processes involved.

The midwifery model of care emphasizes informed choice which I feel is of utmost importance.
